Who is your favourite or worse rugby commentator on super rugby?
I quite like Aussie comments man Greg Martin he is enjoyable to listen to while Phil Kearns is rather biased when the waratahs/ aussie teams are playing e.g last weekend Brumbies v Lions he had few positives to say on the Lions winning.
Our NZ commentators are usually quite fair to both teams playing regardless who they are. I personally miss Murray Mexted - I know he could say some stupid things but he was entertaining.
In SA, Joel Stransky is the best of their lot.
I always thought Clarke was the absolute worst, but then along came Tim Horan.
Horan was a great player, but he is just a biased a##hole when it comes to commentating. He often doesn't know the law in a given situation, and to make matters worse, he makes things up.
The other night Kurtley Beale kicked a ball directly into touch from behind his 22 and the touchy signalled the lineout back where he kicked it. Horan started saying 'oh he must have just brushed the line with his toe, lesson for the kids, if you touch the white line you are outside your 22'. Anyone who plays, refs or watches rugby often would know that the line is part of the 22 area! He actually had to be corrected by Phil Kearns that the ball had been passed back into the 22. Kearns! A frontrower correcting one of the best backs ever on a matter of kicking!
I miss Mexted too!
